Panorama Environmental, Inc. is an environmental consulting firm located in downtown San Francisco focused on environmental review of energy and infrastructure projects. Our team of environmental planners and scientists assists agency staff and private entities in defining baseline conditions, conducting environmental reviews under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), and obtaining permits for projects in the areas of infill housing and development; renewable and traditional energy; natural gas pipelines and underground storage; roads, bridges, and other public works; and water infrastructure, including dams, pipelines, and flood control. We are seeking a mid-level Environmental Planner to work in the San Francisco office.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and write environmental documents and technical reports for challenging urban development, energy, infrastructure, water, and other projects
  • Provide project support at all stages of the CEQA/NEPA and permitting process
  • Prepare presentations for public meetings, draft notices, and participate in project planning
  • Interact with clients and agencies in the course of conducting environmental review of projects
  • Assist with preparation of proposals and marketing materials
  • Opportunity to manage technical studies and preparation of environmental documents

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience preparing environmental documents in compliance with CEQA
  • A Master’s Degree in an applicable field, such as planning, environmental science, or earth science (degree verified)
  • A solid understanding of CEQA compliance process
  • Understanding of planning and zoning for cities and counties
  • Strong writing abilities
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, work collaboratively with a team, think creatively, and take initiative
  • Enthusiasm
  • Must have a valid California driver’s license. Must satisfactorily pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check, and motor vehicle record check
