Panorama Environmental, Inc. is a global environmental consulting firm focused on environmental review and permitting for energy and infrastructure projects. For over 30 years our team of environmental planners and scientists have been assisting agency staff and private entities in defining baseline conditions, conducting environmental reviews under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), and obtaining permits for projects such as renewable and traditional energy; natural gas pipelines and underground storage; roads, bridges, and other public works; water infrastructure, including dams, pipelines, flood control and local development projects in the western U.S, Caribbean, East Africa, and South America. We are seeking an Environmental Planner to work in the San Francisco office.

Responsibilities

The Environmental Planner (EP) leads the preparation of Initial Studies or several resource sections of complex Environmental Impact Reports or Environmental Impact Statements; serves as a Task or Technical Topic Manager on large projects; Serves as Deputy Project Manager, tracking project budgets, preparing invoices, coordinating with subconsultants, and reviewing work of other EPs and Environmental Analysts. Coordinates with subcontractors to relay discuss findings, resolve issues, review mitigation, and prepares permit applications.

Qualifications

Education: B.S. Degree in Planning and a minimum of 2 years of experience or a M.S. degree and 1 year of experience. GPA over 3.5.

Technical Knowledge:  Generally, 2 to 3 years of professional experience in environmental consulting for Environmental Planner I and 3 to 5 years for Environmental Planner II. Proficiency in CEQA and NEPA compliance and knowledge of planning and environmental regulations.

Personality: We are looking for a team player who collaborates well with Project Managers, other team members, and Clients, and is proactive in seeking out work and meeting deadlines. Enthusiasm and a healthy sense of fun are important. Must be organized, detailed, and have a passion for permitting.

Must have a valid California driver’s license and satisfactorily pass a pre-employment background and motor vehicle check.
