Panorama Environmental, Inc. is a global environmental consulting firm focused on environmental review and permitting for energy and infrastructure projects. For over 30 years our team of environmental planners and scientists have been assisting agency staff and private entities in defining baseline conditions, conducting environmental reviews under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), and obtaining permits for projects such as renewable and traditional energy; natural gas pipelines and underground storage; roads, bridges, and other public works; water infrastructure, including dams, pipelines, flood control and local development projects in the western U.S, Caribbean, East Africa, and South America. We are seeking a Project Manager to work in the San Francisco office.


The Project Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the preparation of environmental documents and proposal efforts. PMs work directly with clients, chart the projects process, and are responsible for quality work products, client relationships, agency relationships, budget, and schedule. Will provide direction to subconsultants and technical experts. PMs oversee and delegate work, provide mentoring to Environmental Analysts and Environmental Planners, and manage all team members. PMs are expected to meet annual sales target through generation of repeat business or new client sales.


Education: B.S. Degree in Environmental Planning, Environmental Studies, Biology, Hydrology, Geology, Geography, Natural Resources (or related field), with a minimum of 7 years of experience or a M.S. degree and a minimum of 5 years of experience

Project Management Experience: 5-7 years of experience managing all aspects of the PM process from preparing complex Environmental Impact Reports, Environmental Impact Statements, Initial Studies, Environmental Assessments, and permit applications to tracking project budgets, preparing invoices, coordinating with subconsultants, and reviewing work of Environmental Planners and Environmental Analysts. Experience should be focused on permitting energy and infrastructure projects with a particular emphasis on renewable energy, water, and transmission line development. Demonstrated client satisfaction.

Technical Knowledge:  A high level of understanding of CEQA and NEPA compliance with a background in hydrogeology and water resources, California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) CEQA process. A thorough understanding of state and federal ESA, CWA, CAA, and the NHPA and how to obtain permits under these regulations.

Personality Traits: Positive, resourceful, organized at ease with client and public interactions, enthusiastic, and a healthy sense of fun are important characteristics of a successful manager. A go-to person in the office and for clients based on your technical knowledge and expertise. Passion for project permitting and client service. Master at delegation and review of work across multiple staff members and technical team members in order to become a Senior Manager.

Must have a valid California driver’s license and satisfactorily pass a pre-employment background and motor vehicle record check.
