Job Description
We are looking for a key team member who will provide technical leadership related to local government clients for projects in California, and particularly in the City and County of San Francisco. This person will also be responsible for marketing and business development of such opportunities. Technical work will include management of the CEQA and permitting/ entitlement process for urban development projects.


  • Serve as project manager responsible for successful project execution. Provide technical oversight, interdisciplinary team oversight including management of subcontractors, quality control, budget management, and schedule control for a wide variety of complex projects, with a focus on urban planning and development
  • Develop and maintain existing and new business relationships. Identify and pursue leads, prepare proposals, and successfully bring in projects. Build relationships leading to follow-on and repeat work. Attract work based on personal reputation as an expert.
  • Mentor in-house staff, including development and training.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of CEQA and NEPA regulations and policies and policies and activities pertaining to urban development.


  • Must have managed a development project through the City and County of San Francisco Chapter 31 CEQA process.
  • Must have a minimum of 8 years of applicable experience managing projects with an environmental consulting firm.
  • An applicable educational background, including a Bachelor’s Degree in an applicable field, with a Master’s degree preferred (degree verified).
  • A high level of understanding of CEQA and NEPA compliance.
  • A thorough understanding of state and federal ESA, CWA, CAA, and the NHPA and how to obtain permits under these regulations.
  • Proven project management skills.
  • Excellent writing, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Enthusiasm, a sense of fun, and an entrepreneurial interest.
  • The ability thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have a valid California driver’s license. Must satisfactorily pass a background check and motor vehicle record check.
