The team at Panorama remembers Kimi Worrell, who died tragically in a climbing accident in New Zealand on August 19, 2018. Kimi began working with Panorama as an intern in 2014. She continued working with Panorama full-time until she moved to New Zealand to start graduate school in the Fall of 2017, and she continued working part-time for Panorama throughout graduate school. We remember Kimi as someone who was larger than life, whom we felt could do anything. Kimi had an amazing ability to pick up new skills and solve any problem; she was eager to learn new things, and she wanted to learn everything. We remember Kimi as a grammarian who would school us on grammar rules on a weekly basis as part of her “Teatime Tuesday” message series. We remember her infectious laugh, large personality and volume of energy that she brought to every task. We remember her adventurous spirit and how she seemed to defy time in her eagerness to do anything and everything. We remember her impeccable taste in food and her party planning abilities; she not only organized our office holiday party one year, but she prepared personalized notes and gifts for each person that attended the party. We remember her as a coworker and a friend. Kimi was one of a kind. We will never forget her.
A foundation was started in Kimi’s name to improve climbing safety in New Zealand. https://givealittle.co.nz/cause/kimis-legacy-fund
